What a surprise this course is. Great setting on a hillside near Lake Waco. Heavy tree lined golf holes, challenging layout with generous fairways, make it great for the duffer and the golfer that can go for it. Course knowledge is a must from the first tee. I hit a five wood and did not realize that the dog leg right went down hill, ended up the the trees. Some really tough par 5's, one I recall was uphill and dog leg left.

Bear Ridge has been renamed to Twin Rivers Golf Club. New owners bought it out of bankruptcy last summer and have been putting a lot of money into it since - and it shows. Extremely good playing conditions - even though it is still early March on a bermudgagrass course. Tremendous layout and being very well cared for. Very inexpensive too.

Very good for the price. I think this is Baylor University's home course.
